Syncretic Voices is an exhibition uniting artists and designers of South Asian origin at the historic London townhouse, Fonthill Pottery, located near Frieze London. This inaugural exhibition will be co-curated by Rajan Bijlani, Michael Jefferson and Truls Blaasmo.
Syncretic Voices

This curatorial project stems from the shared experience of the South Asian diaspora, which is  closely intertwined with the Partition of India in 1947. Despite this being a time of great upheaval, one that severed both communities and cultures, collective memories and histories have persisted, passed down from generation to generation through lived experiences and syncretic mythologies.

Using strategies of juxtaposition, inference, and materiality, the exhibition centres each artwork and design object as a step toward a new aesthetic lens for the South Asian diaspora.

Syncretic Voices is therefore a collective attempt to bring together voices from the region to the heart of London.
